Family history starts with stories and is supported by documents, funeral cards, newspaper clippings, census records and more.  Join us celebrating African American Heritage by learning how to research your family history.  Learn the basic steps in starting African American research, hear about genealogical resources available, and start researching your family history.

Nationally recognized researcher, Franklin Carter Smith, author of A genealogist's guide to discovering your African-American ancestors : how to find and record your unique heritage, will present the steps into gathering stories of history of your family.

We invite all interested in family history to attend virtually or in person! This presentation will be broadcast at the Lincoln Branch library, or watch it on Zoom at home.
