Ancestor Look Alike Photo Contest

Event Details

October is National Family History Month.  Celebrate with us by submitting photos of you and an ancestor (or someone from the past who holds a special place in your heart).  We are looking for similarities in physical features OR similarities to the original photo (think clothes, location, expression, etc.)  Photos will be posted in the Local History and Genealogy Department where the public will vote for their favorites! Prizes will be awarded.  

To enter, please either email your entry to programming@ppl.peoria.lib.il.us OR bring in an original to the Local History & Genealogy Department on Lower Level 1 of the Main Library.  Staff will make a photocopy of your entry.  Please include a brief description (less than 100 words) giving information about your photo. 

Photos should be submitted by Wednesday, October 15, 2025.  Voting will be October 16 and go through October 31, 2025.  Winners will be announced the first week of November.  You must come to the Main Library to vote, pictures will not be posted online for voting.
