Event Details

Join us for a 2-hour women's basic self-defense seminar taught by a veteran Peoria Police officer and Jiu-Jitsu instructor.

This hands-on practice of basic self-defense (tailored for women, including – grips, leverage, maintaining distance, and using everyday objects for defense), verbal de-escalation, maintaining spatial awareness, emergency response planning, and a Q&A session.

The goal of this seminar -- part of our Sexual Assault Awareness Month programming -- is for participants to leave with practical knowledge and confidence in self-protection. While all genders experience assault, women are significantly more likely to be victims of sexual assault.
